Happy Birthday, Daddy!

If you've followed this blog from its inception, you know how our lives have been consumed by ripping out & starting over on an upstairs bathroom. How appropriate then, that the kids & I made Chris a toilet birthday cake!? He took one looked & did his best to suppress a smile while saying, "funny lady." Needless to say, he was a bit frazzled as he had spent the morning at Lowe's trying to get the door we had picked out only to find they no longer carry that door - or any door that size. Great fun!

The good news, though is that he got the next smaller size & he & dad were able to get it in. So we now have a bathroom with a door! The toilet & sink are both functional, as are lights near each. We're waiting on a new shower drain to arrive as the one that came with our shower was missing a piece (or something else was wrong - sorry, I'm not all that literate when it comes to bathroom construction). At any rate, after a few telephone conversations, Chris finally emailed a picture to the company & they said, you're right, something's wrong, we'll send another drain. So, once it arrives, he'll get that & the shower door installed. Then it will be just the finishing work...talk about a long time coming! He has done a wonderful job, though. Tom summed it up the other day when I heard him say, "Aaahhh, this is a small little room, but it sure is a nice one!" I couldn't agree more!

14 weeks

I'd say I'm not sure where the days go, but clearly, I spend them marvelling over this little bit of Heaven God sent to us.

13 weeks

The days just keep going by faster and faster. Ben is 13 weeks today - three months tomorrow - where does the time go?

Jac Dances

Jaclyn took our family on a new adventure this weekend. We ventured into the world of "Girl Stuff"! She very much enjoyed 'dance camp' after school two days this week and then performed at the high school basketball game Saturday night. For only having two 45 minute practices, I'd have to say the girls did very well. Nothing too intense to say the least, but they sure had fun as they danced before a packed house!

100th Day of School

Despite a slight delay due to a snow day, Thomas & Jaclyn sure enjoyed their 100th day of school! They did lots of 100-related activities in each classroom. One thing they both got to do was to count 100 things - each student was to bring 100 "something". They each chose colored circle cereal, so they also got to EAT their 100 things, but each decided 100 was too many - who knew!?

It's Friday!

"It's Friday & that means it's picture day, Ben!!" said Thomas only moments ago. We've tried getting one every Friday for all you far away family & friends to be able to watch him grow & the older kids have really enjoyed it as well. I couldn't argue, he's 11 weeks today, so I grabbed the camera & Tom grabbed the blanket & this is what we came up with it. I'd say they're a couple of keepers!

Chris & the other two are out in the snow. I think Rob & Jac are likely enjoying it much mroe than Chris (hehe...something about switching mower motors & running out of gas always makes snow days fun!) they're digging tunnels & who knows what else by now....Tom's hands got too cold so he came in a bit ago. We've enjoyed a free day as school was closed due to the 4-5 inches of fluffy stuff we awoke to this morning.

Hope you all are staying warm in this arctic blast!
